As Carnal Nation's wondrous publishing spree sinks slowly into the sands of time, I invite you to scroll down for links to all my "Love's Outer Limits" columns - a year's worth of weekly writing - which I thoroughly enjoyed doing for this site. I adored CN and all the people here. It was a sad, sad day when this site stopped publishing new content. But I'm keeping busy, as you'll see below! I've been posting updates.

CN continues to be a repository for work by some of the most daring and talented writers on the scene. Please check out the other writers here, like Asher Bauer in Transgression, and many, many others!

Summer 2013 Updates:

An ebook collection of my Carnal Nation columns (and a few new pieces) will be published soon. Stay tuned for more news, as it unfolds.

I continue to teach Intimate Hypnosis - Sexological Hypnosis Skills at IASHS in San Francisco. Also, am now a certified hypnosis instructor for the National Guild of Hypnotists. And I continue to teach online classes through Creative Sexuality and Sex Coach U.

The erotic hypnosis scene is really taking off around here, and I run a Meet-Up group in the East Bay called Entrancing Erotic Hypnosis.

And I've been pleasantly surprised to find that my 2010 paper on Objectum Sexuality was just mentioned in an article about fetishes in New York Magazine

The last couple of years have included a couple of guest sexologist spots on two National Geographic Taboo episodes; presentations at the Gender Spectrum Conference; and other various bumps and burps in the life of a Bay Area sexologist. 'Nuff said!

Summer 2012 Updates:

I have just been certified as a sex counselor through AASECT, which is wonderful news indeed!

My piece, "Kid Chrysalis," has been published in in Transitions of the Heart - Tales of Love, Struggle and Acceptance by Mothers of Transgender and Gender Variant Children, edited by Rachel Pepper (Cleis Press, 2012) and have done a couple of local readings.

I am currently teaching a 300-hour certificate course called Intimate Hypnosis - Sexological Hypnosis Skills through the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality. This distance-learning course teaches people to use hypnotism for sexual problems.

I am also offering an array of online classes through Creative Sexuality Education Corp and through Sex Coach U's Track 3 program. And I've created an adult sex education course for people with developmental disabilities.

2011 Updates:

I earned a Doctor of Education degree in human sexuality through IASHS Oct. 2011 and founded the Center for Sexological Hypnotism, an online educational initiative through Creative Sexuality. I also received a certificate in human services from Berkeley City College.

It was an ugly death for such a pretty boy. Neighbors complained of the smell. Police clambered into the canyon and soon found the corpse, rotting in a heat wave, a distilled water bottle between...

After the fall of original sin, Adam and Eve wore aprons of fig leaves to cover their naughty bits. In Western art the effect of this biblical story is so pervasive that we accept the convention of...

Like children, older adults in our society are perceived to be at greater risk for abuse and exploitation, and therefore in need of specialized protection and intervention. Last week I wrote about...

Resignation is not consent. Weariness and terror are not enjoyment. What seems compliant is not necessarily voluntary. Symptoms of the Stockholm Syndrome are not equivalent to a submissive’s...

We could call it POK for short—a support group for parents of kinky teenage and adult children. Of course, if it were called Parents and Friends of Kink, we could then call it P-FOK. "Hey, hon, I’m...

Move on over, Dr. Ruth! When a specialist in human sexuality says, as Dr. Ruth did recently, "there is nothing new under the sun," it’s time to move on, as she has, to other areas of interest. As...

Ecosexology is to sexology as ecopsychology is to psychology. Ecosexology merges environmental consciousness with an expanded inquiry into human sexual behavior. But unlike ecopsychology,...

Implications for Modern Times World history, as seen through the eyes of a sexologist, could be viewed as a massive, continuous stomping of sex-positive people and cultures by sex-negative ones....

Restoration. Sovereignty. I strongly associate these words with sexual healing. But these words also ripple through me today in a special way. Today, July 31st, is Restoration Day in Hawai’i,...

I'm in the Puna district of Hawai'i island—and all night long the neighbors were having noisy sex. Group sex. Lots and lots of sex in the fitful humid night. So here I am, sleep deprived at dawn,...

I took my thirteen-year-old son and his friend to lunch today and, as a sexologist, it is my firm (get it, firm?!) belief that this should entitle me to at least five continuing education credits...

“Next year, I want a float,” I yelled in Dr. Zientara’s ear. “What? I can’t hear you!” he yelled back. I took a deep breath and e-nun-ci-ated, “I WANT A FLOAT!” “Okay,” he said. (Wow, that...
