Conservatives Want to Build a Gay Bar to Make Muslims Mad
Opponents of Cordoba House, the Islamic cultural center that's planned to be built a few blocks away from where the World Trade Center once stood, have come up with a new way to strike back at the so-called "Ground Zero Mosque": they want to build a gay bar right across the street. That'll show Al-Qaeda!
Fox News commentator Greg Gutfeld started it this Monday with a post on his blog, The Daily Gut:

This is not a joke. I've already spoken to a number of investors, who have pledged their support in this bipartisan bid for understanding and tolerance.
As you know, the Muslim faith doesn't look kindly upon homosexuality, which is why I'm building this bar. It is an effort to break down barriers and reduce deadly homophobia in the Islamic world.
Considering the attitude of modern conservatives towards gays, and especially toward the kinds of gays who might go out cruising at a bar on a regular basis, it's amazing to watch the enthusiasm that Gutfeld's fellow conservatives are showing for building a gay bar. On Liberty Pundits, Melissa Clouthier says that such a bar would be a "Mecca of tolerance," and lists several names suggested by conservative Twitterers:

The Velvet Sword, Jihard and/or Dome of the Cock — AceofSpades
United 69 — Iowahawkblog
Ba’ath House — DuchessRebecca
Her own contribution is to refer to the theoretical bar as "Ground Queero."
On National Review Online, Stephanie Gutmann all but cackles with glee at the idea:\

This may mark the first time that NRO has acknowledged homophobia as a bad thing, which suggests the question: will any of these people support gay marriage if we tell them it'll really piss off the Muslims?
