Apparently Hitler thought so. In this interview with The Daily Show's Jason Jones, Scott Lively, president of Defend the Family, reveals the real reason that the United States can't afford to let Lt. Dan Choi or any other gays serve in the military: because if you let homos have guns, next thing you know, they're marching Jews and gypsies into gas chambers and ovens.
"Adolph Hitler used homosexual soldiers because they were more savage than natural men," Lively tells Jones in the video below. "They didn't have the restraint that a normal man has, and so it was easier for them to do some of the terrible things that the Nazis did." Not only that, Lively says, but the Nazis used a gay bar to plot their "glitzkrieg." Who knew that Fascism was so fabulous?
But what about the fact that the Nazis marched gays into the camps along with the Jews and the Gypsies? That shows how devious Hitler was, according to Lively: "The Nazis did persecute homosexuals to distract public attention from their homosexuality."
We've come across Scott Lively before, incidentally. Lively was one of three American fundamentalists who spoke at a seminar in Uganda which inspired legislation which would have made homosexuality a capital crime. When the law was condemned internationally, Lively defended it in an interview with Lifesitenews.com, saying that it was too harsh, but that it came about because of "a lot of external interference from European and American gay activists attempting to do in Uganda what they've done around the world—homosexualize that society."
And neither is this the first time that he's tried to blame Hitler on the gays; his claim to fame, actually, is a pseudo-history book called The Pink Swastika: The Homosexual Roots of the Nazi Party.

A note on the title card for this article: we found the original image on a site called Heathen World, which claims that it orginated with an actual group of gay Nazis in Chicago:

My own Google-fu can't track down Ernst Röhm's Army, but gay neo-Nazi groups are a documented phenomenon. Which doesn't prove anything that Lively is saying, just that people are fucking nuts everywhere.
