Boobquake: Growing Cleavage Protest
A creative protest suggests that women show cleavage in response to Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi’s claim that scantily-clad women are responsible for earthquakes. Boobquake is the brainchild of blogger, Jen McCreight, who describes herself as a “liberal, geeky, nerdy, scientific, perverted atheist feminist trapped in Indiana.”
The blogger’s half-joking, sarcastic reply to the ludicrous connection between sex and natural disasters has swelled into a worldwide phenomenon. McCreight has invited women to wear their “most cleavage-showing shirt” or “short shorts” on Monday, April 26th to test and disprove the theory that revealing clothing causes earthquakes. The Facebook event already has over 83 000 attendees.
Though some critics argue that wearing revealing clothing further objectifies women, McCreight emphasizes that she does not “want to force people out of their comfort zones” and believes that “women have the right to choose how they want to dress.”
And while the protest has garnered attention from serious news media across the globe, the creator sees the event as a lighthearted response. “Really, it's not supposed to be serious activism that is going to revolutionize women's rights, but just a bit of fun juvenile humor. I'm a firm believer that when someone says something so stupid and hateful, serious discourse isn't going to accomplish anything - sometimes light-hearted mockery is worthwhile.”

Boobs and earthquakes
Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
While the Muslim God might send earthquakes to punish bare boodies Christians spend a lot of time praying for rain, let up of rain, good crops and especially alleviation of sin ... forgive me father for I have sinned ... forgive my sins as I forgive those of others ... eh but!
