Sarah Palin: Pro-Choice When It Comes to Herself
Sarah Palin made a choice she doesn't want others to have. She told a right-to-life crowd in Evansville, Indiana, on Thursday that she considered having an abortion after finding out her baby, Trig, had Down syndrome. The Washington Post reports that anti-abortion groups are applauding her choice. We, too, applaud her for seeing that she had a choice and hope that she will see not only the value of continuing to let others have that choice but also the hypocrisy in trying to take it away.

It seems that Sarah Palin
It seems that Sarah Palin says a lot of potentially great things, but then gets in the way of the point those things were trying to make.
She did have a choice
BUT, should she have had a choice. The same choice could be applied to if it's a boy or girl. Many people in China have already made that Choice. Is it right to prize a male child over a female child. Food for thought. After all it is only a choice.
should she have a choice
The short answer is yes.
Women will always make choices about prenancy for various reasons, within their means, whether or not that choice is socially/medically/politically sanctioned and/or restricted by anyone outside of themselves.
She chose life
This is a stupid argument. What about LIFE? Why is it always about choice? There is no hypocrisy in Sarah Palin's position. What counts is that she chose life.
She CHOSE life
It's not a stupid argument - it's total hypocrisy for her to say that women shouldn't be allowed to make choices about their own bodies, and then say that she made a choice and had considered getting an abortion.
It's called freedom. Sarah Palin had the freedom to make whichever choice she felt was right for herself, and she made that choice. Y'know, like people in the U.S. get to do - make decisions for themselves instead of having some oppressive religious authority forcing its dogma down their throats.
the choice....
Here in VAncouver, Canada, the doctor's won't tell you the sex of your child because of the high prevalence to terminate female pregnancies in some cultures. In Mrs. Palin's circumstance, or anyone else's, I feel it is wrong to try and force any person to see it your own way. Each person and culture has its own moral obligations, and until we foster understanding and love for those who may not share our beliefs, and do not have to, this argument will never end.
