Pornographic Pizza Investigation
A family-owned pizza shop in Murray Bridge, Australia has come under fire for a cut-out drawing of a naked woman wearing nothing but a slice of pizza. The very non-explicit image was removed from the roof of the restaurant after a number of complaints and visits from the police. The owners placed it in the window, but the complaints continued, so they were forced to move it out of public view.
Shop owner Sarah Budarick painted the cartoon-like image, which is now displayed inside the shop alongside other pieces of her personal artwork. Entitled, A Slice of Heaven , the image depicts a woman holding two peppers in her hands with a pizza slice covering her pubic mound. The woman has no nipples and her chest and other features are subtly displayed. In fact, it would appear from her uni-boob that she is not topless, but wearing a tight sweater or t-shirt.
AdelaideNow reports that some residents complained that Pizza Supremo’s artwork was pornographic and represented lower moral standards that the local adult shop. "May I remind the council that teen and childhood pregnancy is on the rise and this form of advertising only increases curiosity in children and leaves them vulnerable to exploitation, sexually transmitted diseases and infectations (sic)," wrote one angry (and misinformed) resident.
Despite a vocal response from a few community members, Budarick said the police handled the matter in a reasonable fashion. "They actually had to get a guy from Crime Scene Investigation in Adelaide because she (one of the residents) complained to the Member of Parliament,” she explained. “Police said it could go to court so it would be in our best interests to take it down to avoid getting sued. They were really good about it. It's got the whole of Murray Bridge talking."
Not surprisingly, business at Pizza Supremo has not declined since the cartoon nudity controversy.

I am always pleased by nudity.
It never ceases to amaze me how even the mere hint of the image of a nude woman can drive some people so nuts. It is an indication that they believe weird and wonderfully stupid things about sex, and that they are afraid that lustful thoughts will take over their mind and cause them to offend God. The same God who they say is responsible for making the female nude form so damned beautiful to look at. I am a painter and my mind is happy to be invaded by nudes, and if God is offended by my lustful thoughts, He should get out of my head and think for himself.
