Man With Enormous Penis Asked To Leave NY Museum

David Livingston, an MFA student in painting at Pratt, is working on a video series called Big Dick, the latest incarnation of which hit the web this week. Wearing a six-foot long felt penis stuffed with sofa upholstery, Livingstone visits the New Museum, lasting about 45 seconds before security guards ask him to leave:

Livingston has been working on Big Dick for the past few months. In a longer (but better) video, the artist tools around the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. Park Slope is known for being a haven for young parents, so Livingston visits the farmers' market and the park festively wearing a BabyBjorn in addition to his oversized flaccid appendage.

Livingston says of his art:

I find its childish humor appealing, and I am fascinated by my sudden transformation from anonymous pedestrian to attention-grabbing street performer. I don’t have to say a word, and it affects people in a whole host of ways.

The New Museum visit was perhaps appropriate; they are currently showing a Jeff Koons-curated exhibit entitled Skin Fruit, which is less controversial for its many nudes than for the fact that it's a show dedicated to the private collection of one of its own board members.
