Economy Goes Down, Condom Sales Rise
Edge San Francisco gives a good look at a trend that you might find counter-intuitive; apparently, the more the economy sucks, the more condom sales go up. Specifically, a sales analysis by the makers of Lifestyle condoms shows that there's been a dramatic rise in their sales since the economy tanked several months ago. Edge speculates about several reasons for the tumnescent condom sales, ranging from the inability to pay for another mouth to feed to an increased number of people needing to entertain themselves inside at night instead of going out on the town. Either way, it's reason for optimism that people aren't pinching pennies to the point that they forego the rubber.
