A Brisk Trade in Panties
“Hi! Let me start out by saying that I am an amatuer [sic] at this. I am currently enrolled in college and me and my roomates [sic] are trying to earn a little extra money to pay for our studies... The panties that I am selling me and my coeds will be wearing and sharing this way they are extra juicy. The panties will not be worn any less than 24 hours. We will be wearing them to all of our classes all day this way I am sure they get hot and steamy... Buy my used panties right here.”
These are desperate times. And while these “coeds” have little grasp of grammar and clearly can’t spell, they and their sisters in commerce have figured out enough HTML to construct panty-selling websites, so I suppose we can be proud of our American educational system after all.
This is truly a shopaholic's dream job: wear it once and sell it the next day!
Of course, if you’re a cash-strapped coed, or a potentially soon-to-be-displaced sexologist housewife like me, there are precious few jobs out there. But there may be many more entrepreneurial opportunities than we’ve been led to believe. For example, a Craigslist ad, recently posted by The Pacific Fertility Center in San Francisco, features a wholesome young white woman, lying in a green meadow with her laptop, the blue sky of promise beckoning overhead. “Make a difference today... donate your eggs.” At $7,000 plus expenses for the first “donation cycle” and $7,500 for each repeat sale, if I were younger, I just might consider it. I’ve got some bills to pay.
However, egg donation (sale!) involves six weeks to three months of commitment, detailed screening, psychological testing (is it really "normal" to want to do this?), blood tests, pelvic ultrasounds, fertility drugs, birth control pills to synchronize cycles with the “aspiring mother,” and finally, egg retrieval through the vagina. You get paid after the retrieval, and the clinic calls you the next day to see how you’re doing. Nice.
So, if egg donation were a full-time job for three months, this works out to be about $14.58 per hour. But remember, you’re on the birth control and fertility drugs 24/7, for however long it takes. The emotional reward of helping infertile couples, one would hope, adds to the pay off.
The women who sell their used panties online experience emotional rewards, too. Whether they may or may not be actually turned on by the prospect of sharing bodily fluids and personal lingerie with distant customers is beside the point. They are performing a valuable public and commercial service, sparing their customers embarrassment or worse.
For example, in 2005, a hapless young man in Japan was arrested as he pursued three schoolgirls in a company vehicle, begging to buy the clothes off their tushes. The man told prosecutors, "I had no idea what I was doing was a crime. They were wearing really short skirts and I got all excited. I didn't want new panties, I wanted used ones." He was the first person charged with violating an expanded Kanagawa Prefectural Government ordinance aimed at preventing the sale of underwear worn by minors.
I am sure my readers will be happy to know that a self-regulating industry group known as the “Panty Trust” expects “all members to be a cut above the typical lingerie seller... Members agree not to promote, insinuate, or suggest activities or situations that could be considered illegal or unethical.” This includes “age play or mention of anything related to minors or persons under the age of 18” and “insinuating bestiality.” The Panty Trust also includes a two-tiered mediation service for disputes between buyers and sellers, and warns members of occasional phishing scams. Panty Trust members, who have endured the rigorous verification process, proudly display evidence of their membership on their websites. Buyers can feel secure, and the sellers who consistently meet or exceed industry standards may even be recognized with Golden Panty Seller or Lifetime Achievement awards.
“...don't be shy! Nothing shocks me. Whether you desire your panties or pantyhose- golden goddess juice, skid mark, masturbated, worn longer, - whatever- Just let me know.”
And just what are the industry standards? A entrepreneurial female contemplating a career in used panties would do well to visit the Panty Hog website at http://www.usedpantyportal.com/ and check out a plethora of useful advice in the Panty Hog University section. For example, knowledge of basic HTML is a must, because women who rip off other women’s sites—content and graphics—are despised (and the search engine‘ll get ya if ya don’t watch out!). You’ll also find Google hints and articles on transparent watermarks for photos, “panty payment options,” and many other invaluable insights offered up by panty veterans.

That rigorous verification process can be painful to someone new to the scene as a seller, just for the record. There is MUCH room for error throughout their investigation. For me it was that someone else had my domain name before I secured it and was posting (back in '06) on forums that they also sold their items at MyPantyStore.com. So, they were telling me that, not asking if, I was this person. They then gave me the ultimatum to leave MyPantyStore.com or not become Panty Trust certified, their reason being that, according to them, everyone seller on that site is a fraud (yea, how's THAT?!). My story goes on and on, but to summarize I never did sell one item on the site and was treated..., well, like a fraud.
I feel the need to mention that the fraud-laden site was recently shut down for unrelated reasons...and the sellers have...spread out.
I did learn from that experience so far as providing proof of legitimacy. Although it is of their own free will that patrons choose to buy from particular sellers (and keep their own activities legal) much of the concern of whether or not a person is who they say they are, and will be the one wearing the items, can be addressed by the seller simply taking pictures or a video of the panties being worn and prepared for shipment. There is no $50 fee to pay; it is between the seller and buyer and cannot be faked. Sending one picture, a copy of a utility bill and driver's license...can.
The information found on the Panty Hog site is super helpful for beginning/novice sellers and buyers alike, but if I recall correctly one must pretty much be Panty Trust certified to sell there. My advice is to take the information learned there and apply it to any online related community/site and become interactive with seasoned buyers and sellers. This will not only provide knowledge and word-of-mouth recommendations but enable buyer's to find legitimate sellers beyond what one site lists.
One last thing.... I am sure that buying their book could be helpful:
http://www.sellpantiesformoney.com/
..but then again it urges sellers to join sites...which also, even if indirectly, urge sellers to pay the $50 to become PT certified...and there are other adult sites that are not a "is a complete waste of your precious time and money". That entire last paragraph is comical....
I am open to sharing my experiences, beyond what I endured with PT and PH, should any potential seller want to contact me.

This is the kind of 'scam' Panty Trust has been warning the community about for years!
There are no secrets in the panty business, all the information one need to set up a profession used panty outlet are freely available on the web. Panty Hog University offers free information written by Panty Sellers with more then a decade of experience.
I have joined Panty Trust in 2007 and never looked back, a vigourous verification process is what keeps the industry to the highest standard.

What was super interesting is that >someone< left a post pitching that on a non-panty-related forum which I frequent, and mention my website often, at the exact time I was going through the PT verification process. Talk about irony, yes?
But is it really all that bad? I mean, it is directing folks to Panty Hog and MyUsedPantyStore...where sellers are pretty much, even if indirectly, ousted or ostracized for not paying the $50 to become PT certified.
I wonder who wrote it. :)
Amber - that is complete
Amber - that is complete nonsense. Nobody is pressured into joining Panty Trust and nobody is ostracised if they don't. I have no idea why anybody would say such a thing. Panty Trust is completely voluntary but it is recommended by many of us as a way to show that you are serious about providing an exceptional service to your buyers. The only members PT refused to verify were those who insisted on supporting My Panty Store (a well know site that encouraged fraudsters and under age sellers).
Amber was barred from joining PT because she caused so much trouble and she was banned from several sites because she caused nothing but confusion (she kept getting mixed up between MPS and MUPS) and further trouble by ranting about anything and everything, she went crazy and started screaming about her rights being violated. She even said that MUPS needed to have her written permission before we could legally modify/delete her post.
Most sellers are friendly and easy going women who want to earn a bit of extra cash and socialise with others of the same fetish interests, unfortunately we do get a few crazies from time to time.

Hello, Empress!
Anyone who speaks out about the Empire gets labeled as such--deleted, ...banned. Too bad I cannot be censored here. I won't get into your blatant lies, as it's kind of to be expected that you paint a certain picture of me.
Ask people--do not tell them--who they are, especially so arrogantly! The language used, how the went about it all...was belittling--abusive. I do hope that the individuals who research sellers for Panty Trust have, at the very least, improved their interpersonal and investigative skills from that whole drama. You are just mad because you had to go through the same process that every seller does," were the last words I saw typed to me from Panty Trust Admin. Is that really how every new seller is treated--guilty before proven innocent? Oops, there I go getting all insane again.
Panty Hog, Panty Trust, and My Used Panty Store are all a part of the same consortium--that "Empire" that I refer to. Why...am I telling you this? It's kind of obvious from your signature that you understand it very well.
Are volunteers immune to longing for power? I can think of a few movements right off of the top of my head that started out well-intentioned but then somehow became consumed by the need for it. Your leader calls himself...the "King" (!).

Aloha e Serena,
Thanks so much for contributing your comment. It's great for the readers to have thoughts of women in the industry.

What about ebanned?
Nice article and helpful comments. Just wanted to say that ebanned.com is an amazing venue for selling panties etc. as well and while there is a verification, no one requires you to become PT verified or pay any membership fees. The structure is a bit like ebay, just less complex; there are listing fees (reasonable) and final value fees if your item sells (reasonable). There is feedback on sellers and on buyers, and the team running the site has always been friendly and prompt in responding. Of course, if you are Panty Trust Verified, by all means mention that just because it gives buyers more confidence!
Happy selling ;-)

Thanks for your comments!
Aloha e Nadia,
Great to have that website info. Thanks so much for adding it here.

No thank you
No thanks. I just looked at ebanned and decided to make my own website to sell my panties. As far as I could find ebanned is the only panty selling site that charges any fees to sellers at all and they charge for absolutely everything! Even when nobody bids on your auction you still owe lots of money. As greedy as eBay seems to be, at least they give you one free photo in your auction. ebanned doesn't even give you that. There are better alternatives that don't nickel and dime sellers to death.
ah yes, here come the ebanned spammers :-(
I enjoyed the article and then see that the comments have already been spammed. This was a nice article about a used panty community site with a mention of a panty verification site. Neither of these two sites written about here are places that sell panties or auction panties. So "What about ebanned?" Your pay to play Ebanned website is an auction sales site that has nothing to do with the content of this article. Worse yet, it isn't even a panty auction site; people just sell panties in one section of it. This isn't an article about adult auction sites it is about where panty lovers can meet and learn.
Please stop the ebanned spam.
Thanks so much!
Aloha e Amber!
Thanks so much for posting your thoughts and comments. I am sure they will be very helpful for other readers!

Your'e Welcome!
It was my pleasure, Dr. Amy.
A whole other article could be written on the surge of sissification in relation to panties/money and it is always interesting to see which sellers jump on the bandwagon and the ones who refuse to. The Pro Domme element added to a sellers persona increases profits exponentially (not an exaggeration). She does not even have to be aroused by such interaction or even good at acting the part for it to be her cash cow. Now what I have yet to figure out is how buyers do not see past the facade, or if they even care to. If I were a one I would want to feel somewhat secure in knowing that the words she conveys are genuine. There seems to be a standardized way that many playing the role communicate, taking examples they see and rewording the sentences. In one respect, though, I can see where it is (clearly!!!) all about fantasy....
I only mention this because of the ties to increasing income and legitimacy. I suppose that I am a little tired of seeing the auction pages of the site that I frequent flooded with that particular theme, though. Sissification certainly makes money!!!

Interesting comment re: sissification
Hi again Amber,
Thanks for the column idea. That's one to tuck away and think about. If I decide to research and write, may I come back to you and ask for a comment?

Hello Amy!
Please feel free to e-mail me whenever you like. I also have a keen interest in some of the subject matter you specialize in...pertaining to the culture that I am surrounded by. They are like a needle in a haystack but transformational once you do find them. :)
