In Malaysia, there has been one case of a couple separating because the spouse smelled of fish crackers. Don’t be too quick to gloat because you are also at risk if you or your spouse own old-fashioned pyjamas and smell bad during sex. There must be some truth to this because smelly body odour, humdrum sex, and boring pyjamas have being cited as the reasons behind the high divorce rate in the Terengganu state of Malaysia. At least three in every ten marriages registered in the state ends in divorce. Separation is now the prevalent trend among couples aged between 25 and 30 years.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the top proposal under consideration by the government to stem the divorce rate is to invite cosmetic firms to introduce exotic and sensuous fragrances that can arouse sexual ardour till death do them part. The state government has already engaged marriage consultants to arbitrate between feuding couples, and will be funding second honeymoons for troubled couples from next year. Beauty consultants are being sought to provide grooming and aesthetic workshops for couples in the state. Lastly, the idea of bathing together to make a relationship more exciting has been mooted as part of pre-marriage courses conducted in the state.
