Who Wants to See Naked Men in Nashville?
A new adult entertainment club is opening in Nashville, TN, and locals will get an eyeful. "This is going to be the first male strip club in Tennessee," said club co-owner Cole Wakefield. "We cater to anybody who wants to come see men dance naked."
While some citizens are content with the many strip clubs featuring women, the idea of naked man turns them off. "I'm sick to my stomach—I'm just absolutely sick," said Metro Councilman Michael Craddock. "It's different for a man to show himself than a woman. It's another step in the wrong direction." Lawyers for the club, called Arrow Nashville, aren't worried about a legal fight though. One of the attorneys, John Herbison, points to all the female strip clubs and says that denying a permit to a male strip club would be discriminatory. "It's time to let the market decide whether a show bar featuring male dancers will be successful," said Herbison.
As if to allay any additional fears, Wakefield insists his club is not a gay club; it will be open to both men and women. Anybody that enjoys the naked male body (no matter how different), that is. The grand opening of Arrow Nashville will be Labor Day Weekend.
